After looking at several web sites, testing different apps, etc, etc, I have decided to pass on using a 3rd party service for my Project 365. Free or pay, I really never saw anything that grabbed me.
So what I have decided to do (for now anyway) is to devote a page of this site to post daily photos from either the shop or other random crap I’m working on or playing with.
If you want to view them, you can find the page by clicking on the “P365” tab in the menu bar above this post. (or see the photo below)
Once there you will see photos with captions below. If you click the photo and you’ll get a larger version with a bit more detail.
Now, I will admit doing it this way is a bit more work than using one of the sites already devoted to such a tack. But it’ll do till I see what it is I like.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and let me know if you see anything you like or have questions about.

So recently I was surfing the web looking at my favorite blogs to read when I came across an article about “Project 365” that intrigued me.

I had no idea what it was about so clicked and read that it started out 2 different ways.
But the one that I liked the most was from a guy who was tired of life passing him buy year after year and not being able to remember what in the world happened. So he decided to take a photo daily of something he was doing so he could recap how he spent his year.
After reading about this I started looking online and found tons of articles & web sites devoted to this topic. It seems everyone from lifehacker.com to flickr.com has a take on this idea. There is even a site called 365project.org online so you can share your photos with everyone.
So naturally I picked up my phone and downloaded an app geared towards this and started playing around. I’ve been taking photos and seeing how the app works and stuff.
I haven’t worked out all the bugs yet. (Where to host it, do I use my phone or digital camera, etc.) but I did decide to have two 365 projects going once I get back from Florida.
One is going to be just a daily photo that could be anything I’m doing or looking at and the other will be just on woodworking.
By haveing the woodworking one, I’m hoping I guilt/force myself not only to spend more time in the shop. But seeing how I’m going to post the photos online, I hope to improve both my woodworking and camera skills.
